Bake Sale Fundraiser for Shellise ♥

I made several loaves of pumpkin bread for a fundraiser today.   I made a huge batch, half from scratch, and added two boxes of Pillsbury Quick Bread Pumpkin Mix.  Here is the recipe…

1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree

4 eggs

1 cup vegetable oil

2/3 cup water

2 cups brown sugar, and 1 cup white sugar

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Add 2 boxes of Pillsbury Quick Bread Pumpkin Mix (follow the instructions on the box)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour five 7×3 inch loaf pans.

Bake for about and hour. Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

The bake sale starts at 1pm at Kroger 1600 South Ohio Street  Martinsville, IN 46151 (765) 342-7151.   For all of my local readers, please come by and buy some pumpkin bread and/or any other baked item.

Proceeds will go to the family to help with the utilities and expenses concurred while being at Riley Hospital with Shellise from her complications during delivery.
If you would like to donate baked goods or help in any way please contact Angie Hamilton Suter.

Here is Shellise’s story, according to Chastity, the grandmother of Shellise…

“Shellise was born on 10/07/2012. Her mommy’s water broke, but she could not dilate. The doctor decided to try a new technique of helping Stacia dilate by placing a Foley Catheter in the cervix to cause her to dilate. When she checked Stacia 2 hours later, the umbilical cord had come out of the cervix, the baby was laying on part of it, and it was also wrapped around Shellise’s little neck 3 times. Before the Dr. was able to get the cord situation handled and get Stacia to surgery for an emergency cesarean, Shellise was strangled to death and stopped kicking. She went without oxygen for 20-30 minutes and was born without a heartbeat. Shellise is now in Riley Hospital and has been diagnosed with severe brain damage. The doctors have told us that she will not do MANY things, but slowly every day we are seeing her do some of these things and improve. We are hopeful and believe that our faith, love and LOTS of prayers will pull her through and bring her home with her parents. Her parents and myself have been at Riley with her everyday trying to give her the love and strength to pull through this horrible tragedy. Shellise weighed 8# 5oz at birth.”

Chastity is asking for donations.  Please help this newborn baby girl… even if it’s just $1… every little bit adds up.
