23 Weeks

I am 23 weeks today.  This week has been really good.  Nothing new to report.  Just relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Christmas, and now I’m looking forward to a quiet New Year’s Eve at home with my family.

Baby girl is still moving around almost constantly in my tummy, and she has hiccups all the time it seems.  Faith talks about her baby sister ALL the time.  She hugs and kisses my belly throughout the day.  She really is very excited; more excited than I thought she’d be for a 3 year old.  She talks about how she is going to show baby sis all her toys, and play with her.  She wants to help feed her and give her a bath.  She says she wants to help her learn to walk.  She is always talking about the things she wants to do with her sister.  She said I need to save her clothes when she grows out of them and give it to baby sis :)  It’s amazing to me just how much she’s thinking into the future when it comes to her new sister.  I’m touched, and so excited for her.  She is already in love with her.

She insisted she look like a dinosaur for this week’s pic.

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about the size of a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won’t faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Here is a few end-of-the-year selfies!  Everyone have a happy and safe New Year’s Eve, and I’ll see you next year! ;)

22 Weeks

We had a good Christmas with lots of good food and Faith opened plenty of presents.  She’s really into Star Wars toys and Minecraft.  I’m glad she also loves baby dolls.  I enjoyed buying girly gifts for her, too :)

Well, baby girl is moving lots in my tummy and I’ve started noticing her hiccuping a lot this week, too!  Faith had endless hiccups all throughout my 3rd trimester.  I now weigh about 150 so I’m almost back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 155.  I think it’s safe to say that my nausea is completely gone now.  I still feel a bit nauseous when brushing my teeth, but I haven’t actually puked.  Yay!  I’m glad that’s over.

If you remember my last post,  I mentioned that I was spotting last week right after my baby checkup and ultrasound.  Well, the good news is that the following day the spotting was gone and I haven’t had any spotting since!  Thank you Jesus!

I really don’t feel like I’m in my 2nd trimester.  I feel like I went straight from my 1st trimester to my 3rd trimester.  I’m uncomfortable all the time.  It’s hard to stand up and sit down.  My core muscles are so relaxed by these pregnancy hormones.  It’s extremely hard to engage my stomach muscles.  Especially when trying to move around in bed and get comfortable.  I hate trying to pick things up off of the floor.  I can’t pick up Faith.  She can’t sit on my lap anymore because my big tummy is in the way.  I figured all of these nuisances would begin to surface in my 3rd trimester… but here they are, right now :(

When I look at my weekly belly pics though,  I still can’t help but feel so happy and blessed that I get to experience pregnancy again, one last time :)  And that Faith gets to experience this, too!

What baby looks like at 22 weeks…

At 11 inches and almost 1 pound (about the size of a spaghetti squash), your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she’s even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.  If you could see inside your womb, you’d be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she’ll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

21 Weeks

This week has been fine… up until now.  I just started spotting a bit.  (Back to this a bit later…)

I had my ultrasound today.  Everything is normal.  Baby girl is healthy and weighs 1 pound 1 ounce. I did voice my concern over some cramps I was having, but the doctor and I both agree it is constipation.  The appointment went fine, except for the fact that baby girl was so stubborn.  She was curled up in a ball and we don’t have any good pictures of her.  However, Faith and Aaron were excited to see her on the computer screen :)  Faith saw her moving around, but we could never get a good view of her face.  All my ultrasounds pics they gave me are a bunch of blurry blobs.  We can’t really make anything out.  The ultrasound technician could see what she needed to see though, and she said everything looks good.  Baby girl’s face was pressed right up against my uterine wall.  Very stubborn girl lol.  My blood pressure was fine. Urine sample was fine.  Ultrasound was fine, but they want to take another ultrasound next month to get some better images.

Aaron, Faith and I stopped at Petsmart after the appointment to get Rocky a Christmas present.  Then we picked up some KFC and went home.  I went pee and noticed the blood.  I called the doctor right away to tell them.  She said that if the bleeding gets heavier, go to the emergency room.  I am not having contractions.  I have some cramping only because I’ve been constipated.  The doctor doesn’t seem worried right now because she said the chances of miscarriage is extremely low at 21 weeks pregnant.  But for me… honestly… I can’t help but be freaking out a little bit.  I never spotted during my pregnancy with Faith.  The ONLY times I spotted was when I had my two miscarriages.  I’m trying not to worry.  I know this is all in God’s hands.  I’ve prepared myself for complications or another loss because I know even at mid-pregnancy it can still happen.  Has any of you had spotting during pregnancy, and everything was fine?  I’m asking for prayers.  Prayers for God’s protection and ultimately His will for me and my family.  I will keep you all posted on any changes.

Here is what baby girl looks like at 21 weeks… She was very camera shy lol.

Hopefully at the next ultrasound she will show her face!

Your baby now is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — about the size of a carrot. You may soon feel like she’s practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby’s eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you’re having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

Faith said a little prayer before the appointment.  She said, “Dear God, please make the baby healthy and clean and be ok.”  Lol.  I know He hears her.
