A Child’s Prayer

Faith was taking a bath and I was straining my back, hunched over the edge of the tub, trying to brush the tangles out of her hair. Josephine was standing right in front of me holding on to the edge of the tub and watching me struggle with Faith’s unruly hair. Jo was making it harder on me to brush Faith’s hair because she was right in my way and I had to lean over even further to reach Faith’s head. My back was killing me and I was grunting and groaning. Faith said she would pray for me. So she said, “Dear God, mommy’s back is hurting. Please make her hurry up.” Lol! I was thinking she would pray that God would take the pain away, but NO!
